A Winter of Strength and Healing

This winter has been a long-awaited blessing. After decades of dreaming about snow, I finally experienced a snowy winter in Eastern Tennessee. January and February have brought me the beauty and peace of snow like I’ve never known before, and with every snowflake, I’m reminded of how far I’ve come. ❄️🌨️✨
One year ago, I was fighting to reclaim my life after a decade of domestic violence and abuse. The pain and struggles of those years left scars, but they also built a strength I never knew I had. 💪💔 To be here now, in this beautiful corner of Appalachia, breathing in the crisp, snowy air—it’s a reminder that even the darkest battles can lead to a brighter future. 🌲🌟
This season, I’ve rescued a kind, sweet, gentle, and shy Labrador named Jace Jalen (aka JJ)—his name means Tranquil Healer. 🐾💖 In the short time he’s been with me, he’s brought so much healing to my heart, helping me through the grief of losing Brooks and the trauma of my past. Each snowstorm, each paw print in the snow, is a symbol of the growth I’ve made and the peace I’m beginning to find. 🌨️🐕💫
Every challenge I’ve faced, every mountain I’ve climbed, has led me to this moment. The strength it’s taken to be here, standing strong in the face of everything, is more than I could’ve imagined when I first started this journey. 🙏❤️ Gratitude fills my heart, because despite all that’s happened, I know that what I have now is enough. The challenges of today are worth it. The healing is worth it. ✨🌈
This winter, I’ve learned that survival isn’t just about getting through—it’s about finding beauty and peace again, no matter how long it takes. 🌨️🦋 I’m living free, living strong, and feeling incredibly grateful for this new chapter. 💖🌟
