![🚨 The Stages of Coercive Control 🚨
I lived this for 10 years, unaware of how I was being manipulated. Over time, I became dependent on him, believing everything wrong was my fault.
Here’s how coercive control works:
1. Idealization 💖 – They make you feel like you’re too good for them, charming everyone around you.
2. Isolation 🚷 – Slowly turning you against family & friends, leaving them as your only support.
3. Financial Dependence 💸 – Convincing you to rely on them for money, leaving you powerless.
4. Undermining Self-Esteem 🥀 – Small comments that chip away at your confidence.
5. Fear & Threats 😨 – Keeping you in a constant state of anxiety to control your actions.
6. Rewards & Punishments 🏅❌ – They give affection when you comply and withdraw it when you don’t.
7. Breaking Down Your Identity 😔 – Making you believe you can’t survive without them.
8. Complete Dependence 🔒 – You feel trapped, unable to leave, convinced you need them.
This manipulation is gradual but damaging. If you recognize any of this, you’re not alone.
